Product Features

PTFE film combines chemical inertness and corrosion resistance with resistance to high and low temperatures. Other characteristics include low friction, a nonstick surface and electrical insulation. Surface quality and pore structure depend on the selected film process and construction.

Complete Common Size Table

Film classification Width mm Thickness mm Comprimento
Skived non-oriented film 5-1300 0.03-1.0 Specify on order
Semi-oriented film 5-1300 0.03-1.0 Specify on order
Oriented film 5-1300 0.03-1.0 Specify on order

The source gives one shared width and thickness range for the three forms. No length value is supplied; confirm the required roll or cut length.

Both CSFM-3 columns are labeled non-oriented in the source. Columns A and B preserve their left-to-right order and values; confirm the intended grade designation when ordering. A dash means no value is specified, not zero.

Dielectric constant is dimensionless. Electrical values are reference data, not a finished-assembly voltage rating. Agree the grade, test method and specimen conditions for acceptance.

Applications and Film Construction

Chemical and environmental equipment

Appropriately specified porous PTFE membranes are used for filtration and separation in waste-gas treatment, wastewater treatment and ultrapure-water preparation. Define pore size, permeability and separation performance; the general film table does not establish these values.

Textiles and outdoor products

Waterproof and breathable membrane constructions are used in outdoor clothing, shoes, hats and tents. These functions require the appropriate porous or composite construction and performance testing, rather than being inferred from ordinary skived film dimensions.

Architectural membranes

PTFE-based membrane systems can be used for roofs on large public buildings, with durability, appearance and self-cleaning surface behavior considered in the system design. Specify the complete reinforced or composite structure and building requirements.

Electronics and communications

PTFE film is used in insulation, protective layers and thermal-management-related assemblies for wires, cables, printed circuit boards and electronic packaging. Verify electrical and thermal requirements for the finished assembly; the table does not supply thermal conductivity.

Medical and biotechnology

Specialized, validated PTFE membrane constructions are used in areas such as vascular grafts, heart-valve-related components and wound dressings, as well as laboratory filtration and separation. These uses require product-specific biocompatibility and device validation; they are not an approval for general industrial film.

Custom Specifications and Inspection

Specify film form, CSFM reference, width, thickness, length, tolerances and quantity. Include orientation direction, surface requirements and any porosity specification. Agree dimensional inspection and the applicable tensile, elongation, dielectric or permeability test methods.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all three film forms covered by the size table

Yes. The reference width is 5-1300 mm and thickness is 0.03-1.0 mm. Confirm the combination and required length for the selected form.

Can ordinary PTFE film be used as a breathable membrane

Breathability requires a suitable structure and verified performance. Select a dedicated membrane construction where filtration or waterproof-breathable behavior is needed.

How should I select a CSFM grade

Use the mechanical and electrical data as references, then confirm the film form and tests. For CSFM-3, identify the intended column because the two source headings use the same orientation label.
