Buying PTFE Spiral Cut Tubing from China

PTFE spiral cut tubing is purchased as a protective organizer for wire, cable or small-tube bundles. It is an open spiral construction, so the first buying decision is not pressure or flow capacity. It is whether the wrap fits the bundle, permits the required branch exits and remains practical for installation and service.

Start with the bundle rather than a nominal tube size

Send the smallest and largest assembled bundle diameter, not only the individual cable size. Add the bundle length, branch locations, expected bends and whether the wrap will be installed before or after connectors. A spiral wrap that looks suitable on a catalogue photo can be too loose at the lower end of the bundle range or too difficult to install at the upper end.

Quote the cut geometry as a construction requirement

For an open spiral product, the buyer should identify the material, outside diameter or flat-width basis used by the drawing, wall, pitch, cut direction, coil or cut length and color. If branch access is important, show its location on the harness drawing. Do not replace these details with the specification of a smooth-bore PTFE tube, a spring tube or a corrugated continuous tube; these are different constructions.

Use a sample to approve fit and edge quality

Approve the product on a representative harness. Check that it can be installed without forcing the wires, that planned branches can leave through the opening, and that cut edges meet the agreed appearance standard. A hypothetical trial example is a 10 mm to 14 mm bundle range with two branches. It illustrates the type of information needed for a trial; it is not a Yozonetech stock size or a qualification result.

Keep the approved sample, drawing revision and inspection record together. This protects repeat orders from being changed by an informal description such as “white spiral tube.” If a supplier proposes a substitute, compare the actual bundle range, pitch, wall and sample fit before accepting it.

Distinguish open wrap from closed protection

PTFE spiral cut wrap is useful when serviceability or branch access matters. It does not create a continuous barrier around the bundle. Where continuous coverage, insulation or a close recovered sleeve is required, evaluate a suitable heat shrink product as a separate construction. Where a flexible routed fluid path is required, consider smooth or convoluted tubing according to the complete assembly requirements. Do not describe an open spiral wrap as a sealed pressure line.

Ask for a quotation that can be compared

Provide the material, drawing, quantity, bundle range, required cut or coil length, packing preference and destination. State whether a first-article sample is required and what you will inspect. Yozonetech can review custom dimensions and related PTFE tubing requirements. Samples are free with courier charges collected. Stock, MOQ and lead time depend on the actual construction and specification; confirm them in the quotation. EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP can be discussed with a named destination and agreed scope.
