Differences between "PTFE" and "FEP"

Appearance: FEP translucent, PTFE pure white opaque.

Temperature resistance: FEP -200 degrees - 260 degrees, PTFE-200 degrees - 250 degrees.

Raw material shape: FEP is grainy, PTFE is powdery.

PTFE:

Teflon, short for PTFE, is commonly referred to as a "non-stick coating" or "easy-to-clean material". This material has the characteristics of acid-resistant and alkali-resistant, anti-all kinds of organic solvents, almost insoluble in all solvents. At the same time, Teflon has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, its coefficient of friction is very low, so it can be lubricated, but also become easy to clean the inner layer of the water pipe ideal coating.

Atmospheric aging resistance: irradiation resistance and low permeability: long-term exposure to the atmosphere, surface and performance remain unchanged.

Non-combustible: The oxygen limit index is below 90.

Acid-resistant and alkaline: insoluble in strong acids, strong alkalis and organic solvents (including magic acid, i.e. fluorosulphate).

Antioxidant: Resistant to corrosion of strong oxidants.

Acidity: neutral.

FEP

FEP plastic is a conjugate of a small amount of perfluoropropanyl perfluoroethylene ether and Teflon. Melting adhesion is enhanced, the viscosity of the solute is reduced, and the performance is not changed compared to Teflon. This resin can be processed directly into products using ordinary thermoplastic molding methods. Suitable for the production of corrosion-resistant parts, wear-resistant parts, seals, insulation and medical equipment parts, high-temperature wires, cable insulation, corrosion-resistant equipment, sealing materials, pump valve bushings, and chemical containers.

Long-term use of temperature - 196-260 degrees, has excellent chemical resistance, corrosion resistance to all chemicals, friction coefficient in plastics, but also good electrical properties, its electrical insulation is not affected by temperature, known as the "Plastic King."

Its chemical resistance is similar to that of Teflon and is better than that of ethylene.

Its anti-creep and compression strength are better than Teflon, high tensile strength, elongation rate of up to 100-300%. The dielectric properties are good and the radiation resistance is excellent. Flame retardant up to V0 grade.
