Product Overview

Yozonetech Identification Products for Wire & Cable are designed for permanent, durable and highly legible identification of wires, cables, harnesses and bundled conductors. The source catalogue presents a dedicated range of heat-shrinkable marking sleeves, identification tags, ladder-type thermal-transfer markers, ribbon and printing software. The product families are intended to cover conventional commercial environments as well as military, aerospace, marine, rail, mass-transit and other applications where identification must remain readable after exposure to abrasion, cleaning solvents, industrial fluids or demanding environmental conditions.

The main sleeve families are AMS, RSFR, PSFR, HMS and HNF. Although their construction and operating limits differ, they share a common purpose: creating a durable identification layer directly around a wire, cable or harness. PUR identification tags provide a non-shrink tag format for cable and bundle marking, while the RSFR/AMS/HMS/HNF ladder-type tags are intended for larger cable and bundle identification. WO-80500BK provides the recommended black resin thermal-transfer ribbon, and WOLABEL-1/3 provides software for label design, data management and repeat printing.

How to Select the Right Identification Product

  • For military, aerospace, defense or marine identification where the source specifically lists AMS-DTL-23053/5 compliance, consider AMS.
  • For general commercial and industrial wire or harness marking, RSFR provides a dedicated heat-shrink identification format with 2:1 and 3:1 options.
  • For elevated-temperature applications, PSFR is the high-temperature family, with a source-listed operating range of -55 to +225°C.
  • Where prolonged exposure to organic fluids, especially diesel oils, is expected, HMS is the dedicated diesel-resistant identification sleeve.
  • For rail, mass transit, marine and enclosed environments where halogen-free, low-smoke and low-hazard characteristics are important, HNF is the corresponding family.
  • For a non-shrink identification format applied with cable dies, PUR tags provide a separate thermoplastic polyurethane solution.
  • For larger-diameter cables and wire bundles requiring ladder-style thermal-transfer markers, use the RSFR/AMS/HMS/HNF ladder-type range.
  • For durable printing, match the sleeve/tag family with the recommended ribbon and compatible printer listed in the source catalogue.

Printing & Ordering Considerations

Identification performance depends not only on the sleeve or tag itself but also on the selected dimensions, print format, printer, ribbon and installation method. The source provides a part-numbering structure that encodes product family, shrink ratio or tag geometry, size, sleeve/tag length, packing quantity, color and printing configuration. For AMS, RSFR, HMS and HNF sleeve products, the source also distinguishes continuous and ladder formats and gives package quantities by ordering size.

For project procurement, the buyer should provide the cable or wire outside diameter, required recovered diameter, identification text, printing side, required color, approximate annual quantity, operating temperature and the main environmental exposures. For diesel, industrial fluids, high temperature, rail/mass transit or military/aerospace applications, the service environment should be stated before the product family is selected.

Installation & Identification Workflow

  • Select the product family according to temperature, chemical/fluid exposure, fire behavior and applicable standards.
  • Choose the supplied ID so that the sleeve can be positioned over the wire/cable before recovery, while the recovered ID and wall thickness meet the application requirement.
  • Select the required shrink ratio: AMS and RSFR are available in 2:1 and 3:1 configurations; PSFR and HNF are 2:1; HMS is 3:1.
  • Choose continuous or ladder format when the selected product family provides both options.
  • Prepare the marking using the recommended thermal-transfer ribbon and compatible printer.
  • Apply the sleeve or tag to the cable or bundle using the appropriate installation method and confirm that the marking remains legible after installation.
  • For large cable bundles, consider ladder-type markers where the larger marker dimensions and thermal-transfer format are more suitable.

Preguntas frecuentes

What is the main purpose of these identification sleeves?

They provide permanent or durable marking for wires, cables and harnesses, with the sleeve shrinking around the identified component after installation.

What is the difference between AMS and RSFR?

Both are heat-shrinkable identification sleeves, but AMS is positioned for military/aerospace/defense and marine applications and is specified to AMS-DTL-23053/5 Class 1 & 3, while RSFR is a commercial/industrial identification sleeve specified to SAE-AS 81531, MIL-STD-202F/Method 215J, UL224 and RoHS.

Which product is intended for high-temperature identification?

PSFR is the high-temperature identification sleeve and has a source-listed operating temperature range of -55 to +225°C.

Which product should be considered for diesel exposure?

HMS is specifically described for wire and cable identification where exposure to organic fluids, especially diesel oils, occurs for long periods at high temperatures.

What is the halogen-free identification option?

HNF is the halogen-free, low-smoke, low-hazard identification sleeve. The source states that its formulation contains no halogens or cadmium.

Are 2:1 and 3:1 shrink ratios both available?

AMS and RSFR are listed in both 2:1 and 3:1 configurations. HMS is 3:1, while PSFR and HNF are 2:1 in the source tables.

Can the sleeves be printed on both sides?

Yes. AMS, RSFR, PSFR, HMS and HNF list single-sided and double-sided printing formats.

What ribbon is used for printing?

The source lists WO-80500BK resin ribbon for AMS, N85 resin ribbon for RSFR/HMS/HNF, and N95 resin ribbon for PSFR. WO-80500BK is also listed for the ladder-type tags and PUR markers.

What are ladder-type identification tags used for?

They are thermal-transfer identification tags for larger-diameter cables and wire bundles. The source lists applications including high-speed rail, subways, MU trains, nuclear power stations, aircraft and space-shuttle environments.

Can identification dimensions and packing be customized?

The source provides multiple standard sizes, lengths, colors, printing configurations and packing options. For a project requirement outside the listed combinations, the required cable size, marker dimensions, quantity and printing format should be provided for confirmation.
