Large Diameter FEP Pipe Procurement for Construction Projects
Oktober 31, 2026
Yozonetech
A large diameter FEP pipe order needs more than a material name and a nominal bore. Define what the pipe will do, how it connects to adjacent components and how the project will accept it. A controlled drawing, agreed test scope and practical delivery plan let buyers compare quotations on the same basis.

This guide explains how to prepare a request for FEP tubing and pipe in a construction project. It includes a confirmed Yozonetech supply experience and a separate hypothetical dimension example. No undisclosed customer dimensions, performance results or railway approvals are inferred.
Define the component before the material specification
Explain whether the supplied FEP part is a standalone tube, a liner within another structure, a protective sleeve or another component. These functions can impose different support, connection and acceptance requirements. The word pipe does not by itself establish a pressure class or a structural design standard.
Give the supplier a drawing showing the interfaces and the relevant operating environment. Identify any transported medium, concentration, temperature, pressure or vacuum where applicable. For a protective component, explain what it must protect against and whether it experiences mechanical loading, movement or external exposure.
A project description such as railway construction is useful context but is not a complete duty specification. It does not establish whether fire, smoke, electrical, pressure or other requirements apply to the particular component. Ask the project engineer to identify the relevant specification and evidence before material approval.
Put dimensions and tolerances on one drawing
State inner diameter, outer diameter, wall requirement, supplied length and units. Specify the measurement condition and acceptable variation for critical features. Include end finish, cut squareness or other interface requirements where they affect fit. Identify whether minimum local wall or ovality requires a separate limit.
For a circular concentric tube, nominal wall equals (OD − ID) ÷ 2. The following hypothetical options demonstrate why a request for a 50 mm bore does not fully define the product. They are not stock sizes or dimensions from the Mumbai project.
| Illustrative option | ID | OD and calculated nominal wall |
| A | 50 mm | 54 mm OD and 2 mm wall |
| B | 50 mm | 56 mm OD and 3 mm wall |
The two options have the same nominal bore but different outside envelopes. Neither option can be approved without the interface and service requirements. Greater nominal wall does not establish a pressure rating, and the concentric calculation does not prove the minimum wall at every point around a real cross section.
Review connection and support requirements
Provide the actual connection drawing, not only a nominal fitting size. Identify the proposed joint or retention method, mating material, available assembly space and whether the pipe must be removable. Ask the supplier to review the arrangement against the chosen dimensions and duty.
Do not assume that a connection procedure used with another polymer can be transferred to FEP. Any proposed joining or forming process needs an agreed method and a representative trial where required. Include the adjacent component tolerances so that the review covers the full interface.
For the installed route, specify supports, allowable bending and movement requirements. Ask for suitable handling and installation guidance for the quoted size. Do not infer a bend radius or structural load capacity from the material name or from a smaller tube in the same product family.
Separate material data from finished component approval
The Yozonetech FEP product page describes customizable ID, OD, wall and length. Confirm the practical range and tolerances for the requested large diameter part. A catalog statement about customization is a starting point for review, not an unconditional guarantee of every combination.
Request a product-specific specification where mechanical or electrical performance matters. Polymer temperature capability alone cannot establish allowable pressure at that temperature. A result for another diameter, wall, connection or test condition should not be applied to the project without justification.
If the project needs documentation, identify each required item and its scope. Ask for applicable FDA-related, REACH or RoHS documents where relevant and a current ISO 9001 certificate if needed for supplier qualification. These documents do not replace component acceptance against the project requirements.
Agree the inspection and test scope before ordering
Define which checks apply to bare pipe and which apply to an assembled system. Dimensional inspection may address ID, OD, local wall, length and ovality. Visual inspection can address agreed surface and end-condition criteria. State sample quantity, measurement locations, instruments and any conditioning required for comparable results.
If pressure, leak, electrical or other testing is required, the specification should state the method, conditions, duration, acceptance limit and responsible party. Avoid a general request for testing without those details. A supplier cannot demonstrate conformity to an unstated criterion, and an unspecified test result is difficult for a project inspector to accept.
| Procurement stage | Document or decision | Release condition |
| Technical quotation | Drawing and stated exceptions | Buyer resolves specification differences |
| Sample evaluation | Agreed inspection and test scope | Results reviewed against agreed limits |
| Production order | Approved drawing revision and quantity | Changes controlled before manufacture |
| Dispatch | Identification and packaging requirements | Required records accompany the shipment |
A sample can confirm a particular supplied configuration and test scope. It should not be presented as proof for all future sizes or conditions. Keep the approved drawing revision and sample identification with the order so repeat procurement remains traceable.
Confirmed supply experience from Mumbai
Yozonetech supplied large diameter FEP pipe for a railway pipeline construction project in Mumbai, India. The reported process from quotation through testing proceeded smoothly, with no problems reported by the company during those stages.
The customer identity, dimensions, service conditions, test methods and numerical results have not been disclosed. This account therefore describes the confirmed procurement experience, not a claim of a particular railway qualification or long-term operating performance. For a new project, agree the technical and acceptance requirements independently.
Plan packaging around the supplied geometry
Agree straight lengths or another feasible delivery format with the supplier. Specify protection of pipe ends and surfaces, identification and any cleanliness requirements. Discuss supports and packing that avoid unintended deformation during handling and transport. Do not assume a coiling method is suitable for every large diameter or wall combination.
Confirm package dimensions and weight before finalizing freight planning. Tell the supplier about destination access limits, unloading arrangements and whether the project needs staged deliveries. A quoted supply lead time and international arrival date are different milestones and should be recorded separately.
At receipt, compare labels and quantities with the order, inspect packaging and review visible condition before storage or installation. Record any discrepancies and follow the agreed handling instructions. Preserve the identification needed to connect the delivered pipe with its documents.
Request a complete project quotation
Send the function, drawing, operating conditions, connection details, quantity, required documents and destination to ptfetube@yozonetech.cn or contact Yozonetech. Ask the offer to state scope, exceptions, sample arrangements, packaging and lead time.
Extruded fluoropolymer tubing starts from a 1 metre MOQ, with many common sizes stocked. Large diameter and custom requirements need specific stock and manufacturing confirmation. Samples are free with courier charges collected from the recipient. Regular supply is typically 3–5 days subject to specification and stock; custom production and transport are discussed separately. EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP can be discussed for the shipment.
